Joanne Southwell, pictured right, won first prize at the nationwide Laser Learning Awards for ‘Outstanding Commitment to Study’ on her Access to Higher Education Diploma from 2016-2017. She was awarded the prize at Laser’s annual conference in London on 16 August 2018. The prize was presented by Julie Mizon, Access Manager with the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency). Joanne studied the Access to Humanities and Social Sciences course here at Totton College and is now studying law at Southampton University.

Jo has always adopted a positive attitude towards her studies, even when her personal situation has been highly stressful.
