5 steps to recruiting the right apprentice

Whether you intend to offer an apprenticeship to an existing member of staff or plan to recruit a new employee, we’ll support you every step of the way.

  1. Email [email protected]. A member of the apprenticeship team will get back to you to get the ball rolling.
  2. Plan your apprenticeship. We’ll help you create an apprenticeship programme that meets the needs of your business. We’ll also advise you about Government funding and the apprenticeship levy as appropriate.
  3. Advertise your apprenticeship using our free recruitment service. You deserve the best candidates for your apprenticeship. That’s why we showcase your vacancy across multiple platforms including social media. And to save you time, we pre-interview applicants and assess their maths and English proficiency before we send you their CV to make sure they are a good fit for your apprenticeship.
  4. Interview and appoint your candidate. Once you’ve received CVs for your position, you’ll interview within two weeks and select your candidate. You’ll confirm a start date soon after. It’s important that you add the successful applicant to your digital account before they start working with you.
  5. Get support from Totton College. You’ll have a dedicated contact from the Totton College Apprenticeships team available for support from the start of the programme right through to your apprentice’s End Point Assessment (EPA)
