Students from across Totton College gained fascinating insight into film production when they visited The Making of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros Studios in Hertfordshire.

The trip, which was funded by Totton College and organised by Creative Media teacher, Debbie Avery, covered a range of creative industry elements that are utilised in film production. Students studying Media, Video Games Development, Performing Arts and Art and Design took part in the trip.

Debbie said: “Everyone had a fantastic time. There was such a range of creative areas to get involved in, and an array of work displayed. This gave everyone a real understanding of what goes on behind the scenes.

“As well as looking at how research, film, animation and special effects are used, we had the opportunity to see how illustration, props, 3D modelling and costume design all play their part in the creative process. It was a fantastic trip, and we’ll definitely be back next year.”
